A feeling so deep

In my dreams you come every night

And alone with my mind I fight and fight

When I look at that innocent face of yours

I feel all my worries disappear

But losing you from my life, remains to be my only fear

Inside a small corner of my heart, my love for you lies deep

When I think about all that happened, I can only afford to weep

My tears are the evidence of my struggle and pain

My smile proves my sacrifice

My soul crumbles to see you drift further away from me

Right in front of my eyes

I can’t take in all the agony; I can’t bear your hatred anymore

Thinking about it makes my mind go blank

And my heart continues to feel sore

You mean so much to me, you can hardly ever guess

All I can ask from you is to get me out of this mess

My heart knows how to beat only because of you

And I wish I could be that special person in your life

Because I know my feelings for you are true

I’ve been waiting for you for a long, long time

Hoping and wondering when you’ll be mine

My heart aches for your love and acceptance

And waits for a day when together, we will smile and shine

I wish I could be your better half

Who understands your problems and shares all your worries

I want to be your best friend in the whole wide world

And be with you forever, till the very end of time

You are my life, you are my dream

You’re my only true love

I will give you all the love I have in my heart

Just ask for it and see…..

Feelings are excruciatingly complex yet unbelievably simple. Our heart’s desires are never-ending and so somehow we end up craving for more. The pain I expressed in this poem are history, and I am so very grateful for that. Heart breaks take a long time to heal. To all the people out there who may still be dealing with a similar context- we are stronger than we think, and as difficult as it may seem, it is not impossible to move on. We are not alone and we will get through this. At the very least, hopefully, we won’t represent Rachel’s version of “moving on and enclosure”, if you know what I mean. 🙂
